Gujarat is emerging as one of India’s most trusted destinations for world-class healthcare and medical value travel, supported by internationally accredited hospitals, skilled medical professionals, advanced infrastructure, and affordable care.
Through Gujarat Medical Value Travel Promotion Society, we are committed to positioning Gujarat as a global healthcare hub built on quality, transparency, and patient-centric care. We invite you to experience Gujarat — where healthcare meets compassion and healing begins with trust.
The Gujarat Medical Value Travel Promotion Society is a body established with the support of the Government of Gujarat to help patients from outside the state and outside India access treatment at affiliated hospitals and healthcare institutions in Gujarat. It coordinates between patients and affiliated hospitals.
GMVTPS is established with the support of the Government of Gujarat. That backing is the principal difference from a commercial medical tourism agency: the hospital network is vetted by the society against defined standards, and its purpose is to promote Gujarat as a medical value travel destination rather than to earn commission on referrals.
Generally yes. State institutes such as U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology, the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre and the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute operate at lower cost than private hospitals while handling very high case volumes — and high volume is among the strongest predictors of surgical outcome. GMVTPS provides access to both.
The network covers cardiology and cardiac surgery, nephrology and kidney transplantation, oncology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics and joint replacement, and liver disease including transplantation — across public institutes and accredited private hospitals.
India issues an e-Medical Visa, valid for 365 days from arrival with multiple entries. Applicants need their passport bio page and a letter from the treating hospital on its letterhead stating the suggested admission date. Applications may be made from 120 days before travel and at least 4 days in advance. Visa rules should be confirmed before travelling.
Yes. India grants up to two e-Medical Attendant Visas against one patient’s e-Medical Visa. Attendants require only their passport bio page to apply — the hospital letter is required for the patient’s application, not the attendant’s.
Send your diagnosis, recent reports and imaging to the GMVTPS care coordinators through the enquiry form. Affiliated specialists review them and return a treatment plan with a written, itemised estimate, the expected length of stay, and the documentation required for a medical visa application.
